the other, other 4-letter word… hope

CG founder Helen Bazuaye joins 9 other experts to talk about HOPE for H&M Foundation’s series, 10 Voices

I don't know how it’s been for you, but 2023’s closing season has given me a mixed bag of treats. Some sour, but a lot sweet. Like being asked by H&M Foundation to share some thoughts on HOPE as part of their anniversary celebrations. My talk is number 8 in the series 10 Voices, 'inviting 10 inspiring voices in sustainability to highlight one reason to feel hopeful about the future.' The idea of hope is a beautiful thing that comes into its true power when we move from ideas to action... and it doesn't rely on big, showy action. Small, consistent, committed acts can add up to a world of difference.

Building hope is at the heart of the Foundation's work to create a socially inclusive society and planet positive textile industry. The exciting work they’re doing with Creative Equals is part of this. A pilot scheme that will bring together a diverse group of people who are passionate about creating an equitable future for fashion, to co-create a solution that will effect real change. I'm lucky to be part of the Creative Equals team involved in this innovative programme.
